- [Instructor] In this video, we want to configure DHCP, the dynamic host configuration protocol on a Cisco router. In fact, we want to do three different DHCP configurations. Number one, we want to configure a Cisco router to act as a DHCP client, and that's a very real-world application. If you have a router getting IP address information from your internet service provider, it is oftentimes via DHCP. We'll also set up a Cisco router to act as a DHCP server, it can be the device that hands out the IP addresses. And then we'll configure a router to act as a DHCP relay agent. And then, after we have everything set up, we'll verify DHCP operation. Now let's go out to the live interface and set this up. Let's begin by configuring a router that's labeled as our PC as a DHCP client. Just like a PC could get IP-address information via DHCP, so can a Cisco router. To set this up, let's go into global…
