- [Narrator] Virtualization provides tremendous operating efficiencies to data centers, improving the management of servers as well as increasing the utilization of resources. Using virtualization technology does, however, also bring added security responsibilities. Let's take a look at a few of the ways that virtualization modifies security requirements. First administrators in a virtualized environment must ensure that the virtualization platform has sufficient resources available to handle peak demand. Pooling resources improves efficiency, but it also reduces the margin of error, requiring careful monitoring. Administrators should carefully plan their use of CPU compute cycles, memory, storage and network bandwidth to reduce conflicts between different workloads. Administrators in a virtualized environment must also implement the same operating system security controls that they would in a non virtualized environment.…
