- When was the last time you left your house without your phone? (chuckles) If you're as hooked on your devices as I am, the answer is probably that it's been more than a decade. But small changes in how you interact with technology can have a huge impact on your attention span. So let's talk about what that looks like. First off, when it comes to technology, boundaries and strategic access are key. If you wanted to eat less sugar, you would probably want to avoid having candy in your kitchen or at your desk. Similarly, with your phone, you should turn off all non-essential notifications, keep your phone out of sight when you're working, and use the do not disturb feature when you want to avoid being interrupted. It's also helpful to set designated tech-free times or have specific times of day when you check your email and social media.
