Testing a website
- When visitors come to your website, they expect the process to be seamless. If anything goes wrong or is confusing, it's very unlikely that they'll stick around to try again. So here are some general best practices for testing a website. It's a good idea to test thoroughly prior to launch, and then consistently throughout the life of your site. Depending on how much traffic you get, you may need to test frequently. It's a good idea to test using a staging or a development site. If you need help with staging sites on WordPress, check out my course on the topic. Sometimes test sites can have minor differences that will create different results. Always take a backup before doing any testing at all. You may accidentally break something or simply change something that you didn't mean to. And having a new backup ready helps prevent losing any important updates. Make sure that when you test, you do so during low traffic…
