- [Lecturer] Whether you snap your own photos or hire someone else to do it, here are some things to keep in mind as you work with images. First, take high resolution photos. While you'll ultimately scale them down and compress them for use on your site, start with high res images. You can always make a large image smaller, but you'll never be able to make a small image larger and still have it look good. Next, consider taking photos where you have a good, even light source. And avoid taking photos where there are distracting elements in the background or things that would otherwise take away from whatever you're trying to show off in the photo. Along those lines, if you're shooting photos of your products, try to shoot each product from a similar angle and with a similar backdrop. For small products, a basic light box or a white background may work great. For larger products, this might present a bigger challenge, but…
