- [Instructor] Throughout this course, we will design a mobile management program with the two leading mobile operating systems. As previously stated, each program will focus on the Android and iOS OSs. The two major mobile OSs represent both the open system and the closed system. Android is an open system, and iOS is a closed system. First, a cursory note on each. An open system is a system in which each piece is available for user customization. Open OSs enable nearly infinite possibilities for anyone to develop anything they can imagine. Because of the flexibility, open OSs are quite popular among developer communities. Closed systems are essentially walled gardens. They expose only what is intentionally allowed by the creator of the OS. Because of these limitations, closed OSs tend to be favored for work.
