Your project briefing
- [Instructor] Welcome to the Toy Store KPI Report Guided Project. This is going to be a really fun and basic project where you'll get to use your skillset to build a simple interactive report. So here's the situation. You've just been hired as a brand new data analyst for Maven Toys, a toy store chain with multiple store locations in Mexico. Now, to better understand business performance, you've been handed data that contains transactional sales records from January 2022 through September 2023 as well as information about products and store locations. Your goal here is to build a simple interactive report that the leadership team can use to monitor key business metrics and high level trends. And for this project, we're going to break things down into four core objectives. The first objective is going to be all about exploring the data using profiling and QA techniques to understand the raw data. After that, you'll follow the data modeling best practices and create a relational data model. The third objective is really all about enhancing the data by adding some calculated measures and fields. And then finally, we'll wrap up and bring it all together and build an interactive report. So for this project, I highly recommend that you try and work through each of these core objectives and their associated tasks on your own before watching the solution videos. Also, I'm going to be using Power BI to solve these objectives, but really feel free to use any tool that you're comfortable with. So with that, have fun and enjoy the project.
