Unlock your perfect week with AI-powered schedules
- In the last video, we explored how the knowledge problem stops people from achieving their goals. But there's another major obstacle that shows up in the research, the time problem. It's really fascinating. When you ask people why they haven't achieved their most important goals, the most common answer is surprisingly simple. "I don't have time." Think about that for a second. We all get the same 24 hours, yet some people seem to accomplish so much more than others. What's going on, here? Sure, some people are richer and can afford nannies and personal assistants. Others are maybe a little bit lucky. But there's more to it. Research shows it's not about having more time. It's about how intentional we are with the time we have, and this is where AI can be incredibly powerful in two major ways. First, let's talk about scheduling. Here's a little trick that most people don't know about. Take a screenshot of your current schedule and show it to AI. Then, say something like, "I want to start working out three times a week. Looking at my schedule, when would be the best times and what adjustments should I make?" Watch what happens. The AI doesn't just suggest random time slots. It analyzes your existing patterns, identifies potential conflicts, and even considers your likely energy levels throughout the day. But here's where it gets really interesting for you. Research shows that people who have specific plans for when to do what, so, essentially scheduling, are more likely to achieve their goals. A good rule of thumb for me is, if it's not on my schedule, it's never going to get done. The second powerful way to use AI is for habit formation. We know from research that habits are the ultimate strategy because they put our behaviors on autopilot. Let's say you want to build a morning writing habit. Instead of generic advice, ask AI to analyze your specific situation. For example, "Here's my current morning routine. Help me design a writing habit that fits naturally into this flow and suggest ways to remove friction." The AI might suggest practical steps, like setting up your writing space the night before, or linking your new habit to an existing one, what researchers call habit stacking. Here's what most people get wrong, though. They try to change too many things at once. This is where AI can be your voice of reason. Show it your goals and ask it to help you prioritize which habits to build first. Try this right after our session. Take one goal you've been putting off because of lack of time. Then, screenshot your schedule, if you have one, and engage in a conversation with AI about both scheduling and habit formation. Ask it specific questions about your situation. Remember, time is not just about hours in a day. It's about making those hours work for your goals. And with AI as your planning partner, they can make that happen much more effectively.
