- In this discussion, we're going to take a look at governance protocols and compliance standards, and we'll start with governance protocols. These are a set of policies and procedures, designed to ensure an organization's operations are aligned with its goals, legal requirements, and ethical standards. And there are six key elements to a governance protocol. First is policies. These are clear guidelines and principles, governing organizational behavior. We have review cadence, which is the regular interval at which those processes are assessed for effectiveness and relevance. And then we have review strategies, which is just a structured approach to monitoring, evaluating, and adapting governance protocols.
