Import survey data
- [Instructor] Now that we've seen how to create a survey database, we need to populate it with survey data. This data is typically used to define the existing conditions of a project. I've already opened the drawing called import survey data, and what I'll do next is on the home tab of the ribbon under create ground data, I'll click import survey data. I'll select the essentials one database and click next. Under data source type, I'm going to select point file, but you can see that there are various types that we can pick from. A point file is a simple text file with point data contained in it. Then I'll click the plus sign to select my file. I'll browse out to our exercise files folder, go to chapter three and find the Topo Survey.txt file. I'll click that and pick open. For the next step we have to choose the format that matches the data in that text file. So we'll scroll down and we'll find PNEZD comma delimited. And it's important that the letters are in the correct order…
