From the course: AutoCAD 2025 Essential Training

Using the exercise files

- [Instructor] Exercise files are available for you to follow along with this AutoCAD essential training course. When using the exercise files, all associated exercise files can be downloaded from the library. They download as a ZIP file and you can save them to whatever location you choose. All of the AutoCAD DWG files in those exercise files are saved back into a 2013 DWG file format. There's a reason for this. It means that any version of AutoCAD from AutoCAD 2013 upwards can read those DWG files, so you don't have to be running the latest and greatest AutoCAD to take this course. It is recorded using the latest version of the software, but it means that you can use an older version of the software to follow along, as well, if you haven't upgraded your software yet. I will let you know what particular file you need to use for each video in each chapter and I'll do this so that you know which file to find in your download from the library to use and follow along with the videos. Store the exercise files in a known location and make sure you unzip them as well and then they're all in a known location, easy to find, easy to access. And a little trick, have the exercise file open before starting the content of the video. Now I mention the file at the beginning of each video, so find the file, pause the video, then get started on the content of the video and the learning enclosed in that particular video in the chapter.
