Locking viewports
We're starting a new chapter now and we're going to take a look at how we work with viewports and annotation. So we're going to start looking at how we work with viewports in our layout tabs, how we work with annotation, things like annotative scaling for dimensions and text annotation and so on. Now for that reason we've got a new drawing for you it's called newmetalplate.dwg and if you download that from the library to follow along with the videos you're in a good position to get going. Now remember when you open up the drawing it needs to be in the model tab at this particular point in time. Now you'll notice in the model tab we've got a simple metal plate plan view we've also got a section view and a side view there as well and what we're going to be working with is our viewports and how we set those up to work with our annotation in our drawings to communicate our design intent.
