- [Instructor] Creating a dashboard by using visualization software, like Tableau or Power BI, it can be exciting, especially for those that like to flex their artistic muscles, but with so many options, dashboard design can quickly get out of control. In this video, I'll give you some helpful tips so you can create helpful, user-friendly dashboards that actually provide value. Tip number one, think about your car dashboard. The goal is to keep the driver safe and to make sure the car works, so they limit the dashboard to things like car speed, fuel, tire pressure, lane departure, and collision warnings. While some of those are just a light that goes on when we need a warning, speed and fuel provide graduated measurements. But whether it's a light or a gauge, we are helping the driver make good decisions quickly.
