- You can improve the readability of your Alteryx workflows by utilizing comments. This will help you and your team understand and maintain even the most complex formulas and data transformations. Let me show you how you can add comments on formulas within your workflows. Click on the formula tool that you want to comment on and locate the expression window within the tools configuration panel on the left. To add a comment on a single line, use a double forward slash followed by your comment. For example, this is a comment. We can go ahead and click run. And you'll notice that "this is a comment" has started to appear underneath this formula. Comments are for internal use and do not affect the functionality of your workflow. They serve as explanatory notes and provide insights for easier understanding. A quick note here that Alteryx has also incorporated AI functionality into its commenting feature.
