Enhancing the user experience with form controls
- [Instructor] Form controls in Excel allow you to take the FP&A user experience to a whole new level. I use list boxes, as you can see here, combo boxes, as you'll see here, and then option buttons as you'll see here, to enhance my deliveries to client CFOs, my points of contacted private equity firms and my business partners. With these form controls, you can drive assumptions throughout your model. You'll even note that as I'm doing this, my revenues, my gross profits and my marketing expenses are changing instantaneously. Let's take a look at how this works. First, form controls may not even be activated in your version of Excel. If you don't see this Developer ribbon up at the top, you're going to need to add it. I'll go over here to my File, Options, and then down here to customize ribbon. Here are your main tabs.
