Accessible typography
- [Instructor] Accessible typography builds directly on the principles of good type design. Because the web is primarily for sharing written information, having accessible and legible typography is at the core of accessible visual design. Most font properties affect accessibility, including the font, font size, font weight, line height or leading, letter space or tracking, and line length. Fonts should be legible with clear letter forms that are easy to differentiate and read. Highly decorative fonts can hinder legibility and should be avoided outside of purely decorative uses. A legible serif or sans serif typeface can look great and help users better understand content. Text content should have a font size of at least 16 pixels. The main body copy of your website or web app often looks best and is more legible with an 18 pixel or 20 pixel font size. Whenever possible, avoid using text smaller than 16 pixels unless it's…
