From the course: 7 Keys for Developing Effective Creative and Critical Thinking
Create freedom, resources, and continuous learning
- Super important if you want to encourage creativity in the team, people need to feel they have the freedom to put forward ideas and suggestions, to play around with different themes, and to keep trying things out. Think of it a bit like creating prototypes for products and design thinking. That might go through an interactive, continuous process where the learning happens when things are tried out, experimented with and evaluated. What works here, what doesn't, and then improved. If you've got a great team, you'll be able to do that with confidence. At the same time, you want to also have some structure there, and that's where frameworks, like mind mapping, brainstorming, are really useful. But to emphasize, you need someone to lead this for it to be really beneficial. Make sure people have what they need to keep developing and learning. What sort of training and support might help most? How will you ensure they have the time and space to use those opportunities?
