Network data analytics function (NWDAF)

Network data analytics function (NWDAF)

(bright music) - [Instructor] In traditional networks, the decisions were taken in a reactive manner by the different network functions. But in 5G, it introduced a new function, which is network data analytics function, which is a real time artificial intelligence engine that predicts and optimize the network behavior before issues arise. Think of NWDAF as the central nervous system of 5G, which is collecting data, analyzing patterns, and automating decisions to enhance performance. Now, NWDAF has certain key functions and responsibilities starting with the data collection. So NWDAF aggregates data from multiple sources, multiple network functions such as AMF is having some mobility related data. It gathers all that data. It has the SMF where the session related, all the information is lying over there. The NWDAF captures all the data. PCF for policy updates. So all this data can be collected by NWDAF for analysis. Now analysis can be done and some insights can be given by leveraging…
