Selecting in Window and Crossing modes
- [Instructor] The Select Object Tool is the default tool in Max. The icons to the immediate right of the Select Object icon will let you select things in different ways. The first one to the immediate right is Select by Name. If we click on that button or press the H key on the keyboard, we get a pop-up window allowing us to select objects in the scene by their name. I can click on an object here. I can hold down Control and select other objects, and then click OK, and those objects are selected in the View. Okay, I'll deselect those. So let's Select by Name. Next, we have the Selection Region. And the default Selection Region is a Rectangle. If I click and drag in the View, I'll create a Rectangle, that allows me to select objects. But there are other Selection Region types. If I hold that button down, I'll get the fly-out and we see we've got a Circular Selection Region, Select with a Circle.
