- [Instructor] When you're evaluating 3D scanning techniques, you want to learn a little bit about what the difference between accuracy and resolution is. Here I'm on the web page for Artec 3D, for the scanner that I'll be showing you in this class for the Artec spider scanner. They have numbers for accuracy, which are very low and numbers for resolution, which are a little bit higher. The difference between accuracy and resolution is that accuracy are the density of points that the scanner can physically shine on an object. When you mesh those points together, though, you don't record all of the features at the accuracy level, you have to rely on the resolution level, which means that the space spider scanner can resolve features at 1/10 of a millimeter or above.
