- [Instructor] Quite a number of solid modeling programs can effectively work with STL files, but, sometimes, you may find a need to work with what's called a solid model inside of your solid modeling software. Luckily, there is a very easy way of creating rudimentary solid models from the results of your 3D scans. If you do a search on your favorite search engine for instant meshes, a top hit will be this GitHub project, wjakob/instant-meshes: Interactive field-aligned meshes. If you scroll down on this instant meshes page, to the pre-compiled binaries. You can download this for Windows, Mac or Linux and I would suggest that you do that now.
