As a Sales Navigator admin, you can use the CSV template to organize and input user data for efficient bulk management in LinkedIn Admin Center.
The following table provides information on the most used column headers that the CSV processor supports. You must enter acceptable values for all the required fields for each user that you would like to add. Keep in mind that custom templates, such as templates for adding new users and updating email address domains, only include relevant columns.
| CSV column header | Description | Required | Acceptable values |
| invited_email_address | User's work email address, or the new email address domain (for email domain changes) | Yes | A valid email address. For example, john.doe@test.com |
| preferred_first_name | User's first name | No | John |
| preferred_last_name | User's last name | No | Doe |
| employee_id OR unique_user_id | Your custom identifier for each user is shown as the Employee ID on the users’ enterprise profile in LinkedIn Admin Center. Ensure each user has a unique ID to prevent data loss. Ensure that each user has a unique and different ID. If users are uploaded with matching IDs, data loss can occur. | No | An alphanumeric ID. For example, ID12345 |
| seat_id | Unique seat identifier automatically generated for all activated users. | No | An alphanumeric ID. For example, ID12345 Note: This number can't be changed. |
| sales_license_current_status | Grants the user access to Sales Navigator.
| No | active or inactive |
| teamlink_extend_license_current_status | Allows your account to increase the size of its TeamLink network by adding the networks of the user. TeamLink Extend is only available for Sales Navigator Advanced and Advanced Plus plans. | No | active or inactive |
| admin_permission | User's permission level. | No | admin, reporting, or [blank] |
| groups | Names of all the groups the user belongs to. Note: Changes to this column will overwrite any existing group memberships. | No | New or existing group names |
| add_to_groups | Groups the user will be added to. | No | New or existing group names |
| remove_from_groups | Groups the user will be removed from. | No | Existing group names |
| existing_email_address | Original email address (only for email domain changes) | Yes | A valid email address. For example, john.doe@test.com |
| domain_name_change | Specifies if the domain name is changing for that user (only for email domain changes). | Yes | TRUE or FALSE |
Considerations
Consider the following items when using the CSV template:
- There is no record limit on a CSV upload.
- The Unique User ID column is not required. However, if it’s needed, ensure a distinctive ID is used and don’t use generic numbers like 1-10.
Important to know
- Use the following case-sensitive values for adding or revoking users’ licenses:
- Active - Sends an invite to a new user to activate their license. No changes will be made for users already activated.
- Inactive - Completely revokes the license from the user, including any users who are invited or activated.
Group management when using the CSV template
When adding or removing users, keep the following in mind when using the groups column:
- Both the groups and add_to_groups columns can be used to create new groups by adding a word into the column.
- Example - If you have existing groups called Sales and Engineering, you can create a new group called Support by adding a comma and the word “Support” into the groups column or into the add_to_groups column.
