Sales Navigator usage, limitations, and restrictions

To ensure the integrity of our platform and protect our members and customers, certain features of your Sales Navigator subscription may be temporarily restricted if our system detects unusual activity. In rare cases, your ability to send InMail messages or connection request invitations, perform lead or account searches, or view member profiles may be impacted.

To avoid limitations or restrictions being temporarily placed on your account, we suggest the following:

  • Personalize your InMail messages - Personalized InMail messages help boost responses rates and helps reduce the chances of your message being marked as Spam by recipients. If your message is marked as Spam, your Sales Navigator account could get restricted. Also, provide adequate time to recipients to respond to your message before following up.
  • Manage your connection requests - When sending connection request invitations, provide context by adding a personalized message with your invitation explaining how you know the recipient, or why you'd like to connect with them. It is advisable to connect only with people you know and trust to avoid restrictions on your account. LinkedIn aims to keep the platform safe and spam-free.
  • Remove browser extensions that may be scraping profile data or causing a high number of profile views.

Temporary restrictions are generally lifted automatically after a 24-hour period. If your account is restricted for more than 24 hours or you believe that you have received this restriction in error, please contact us and we are happy to provide additional guidance.
