Review Apply Connect free job applicant limit

Last updated: 3 months ago

Apply Connect allows your applicant tracking system (ATS) to post Basic (free) jobs to LinkedIn through the Job Posting API. LinkedIn will post the job, enable Easy Apply to gather onsite applicants, and send completed applications back to your ATS in real time.

Basic jobs posted through Apply Connect have an onsite applicant limit designed to help manage applicant volume and encourage timely candidate review.

How the onsite applicant limit works

  • Easy Apply cap: Each Basic job can collect a limited number of Easy Apply submissions. When the limit is reached, Easy Apply is disabled and candidates are redirected to apply on your external career site.
  • After reaching the limit: The job will remain active on LinkedIn after the cap has been reached. To gather more applicants using Easy Apply, promote the job. After promoting the job, unlimited applicants can apply to the posted job.

Additional considerations

  • Job lifespan: Basic jobs posted through Apply Connect stay open for 180 days unless you close them sooner in your ATS.
  • Increasing visibility: For your Basic job to gain higher visibility, you must either:
    • Post the job as Promoted (paid / Job Slot) at create time, or
    • Let Job Wrapping move the job into a slot according to your wrapping rules, or
    • Close the Basic job and repost it as Promoted.

Here's a tip

Post directly as Promoted or enable Job Wrapping rules to promote high-priority roles automatically. Promoted job postings appear higher in search, show the Promoted tag, and are exempt from the Basic jobs cap.
