Recruiter accounts are meant to be used by a single user, on one device at a time.
You may receive a notification or restriction if we believe that your Recruiter license is being shared with another user:
- An acknowledgement page will be displayed (after detection of your first violation).
- A banner will persist at the top of your Recruiter page for 3 days.
- A sessions management page will be displayed upon detection of multiple sign-ins, where you will be prompted to sign out of other detected sessions.
Typically, we'll provide warnings and temporary restrictions before permanently restricting either your Recruiter license LinkedIn account. However, we reserve the right to permanently restrict license access or accounts without warning to you.
License sharing is when a Recruiter is being accessed by someone other than the assigned LinkedIn member. License sharing is a breach of our contract terms. Both the LinkedIn Corporate Subscription Agreement (LSA) and our User Agreement prohibit license sharing or other arrangements that give another user access to your LinkedIn account.
We may detect that you are license sharing when your activity differs from what normal usage looks like, including when users log in from many devices or when individuals appear to be repeatedly logging in as someone else over a prolonged period of time. We also use proprietary algorithms to identify activity that consistently falls outside of the normal activity.
You can avoid getting flagged for license sharing and better protect your Recruiter account from future violations by taking the following steps:
- Review where you’re signed in to see if someone else is logged into your account and log out of all active sessions. If you operate your Recruiter account from multiple devices, remember to log out of a session before you log in on another device.
- It's possible that other individuals may be logging into your account without your knowledge. To prevent this, reset your password. Changing your password is the first step to prevent any unauthorized individual from accessing your account.
- Activate two-factor authentication for enhanced account security.
- Create separate device login profiles/IDs on shared computers. This ensures that all your documents and internet activity is accessed securely by the intended user.
- Ensure you're only accessing your account from devices you trust. If you're logging into your account from multiple devices, make sure you have your personal Windows or Mac user profile/ID on the device and that you're only accessing Recruiter from your personal profile/ID. This will not only protect your LinkedIn account and our member data, but also all of your personal information, emails, and documents.
LinkedIn reserves the right to limit your use of our services. LinkedIn reserves the right to restrict, suspend, or terminate your account if LinkedIn believes that you may have breached this agreement or law or are misusing our services.
