No access to mobile device for two-factor authentication

Last updated: 4 weeks ago

If you have two-factor authentication enabled but cannot access the mobile device associated with your account, please follow the steps below to turn off two-authentication.

If you can access your account using a device that you are currently logged into, you can turn two-factor authentication off from your account settings.

To turn two-factor authentication off:

  1. Click the  Me icon at top of your LinkedIn homepage and select Settings & Privacy.
  2. Select Settings & Privacy from the dropdown.
  3. Under the Sign in & security, click Two-factor authentication.
  4. Click the toggle button to turn off two-factor authentication.
  5. Click Done.

If you do not have access to any device with a logged in session, follow these steps. You’ll be asked to authenticate your identity prior to access being restored.

  1. Sign in using your email or phone number and password.
  2. On the two-factor authentication prompt screen, select verify your identity at the bottom of the screen.
  3. You will be prompted to submit a picture of a government issued identification document to ensure that only you regain access to your account and any unauthorized entity is not given access. Learn more about identity verification here
