Get started with setting up your ad account in Campaign Manager

Last updated: 1 week ago

To get started with creating ads on LinkedIn, you must first create an ad account in Campaign Manager. Your ad account allows you to:

  • Control who has permission to create ads or view campaign performance
  • Determine how you’ll pay for your ads
  • Share audiences or assets across campaigns and ad sets
  • Set brand safety settings for all your ad campaigns

Depending on your organization’s size and advertising goals, you might use some features but not others. Review the following sections to learn more about setting up your ad account in Campaign Manager.

Get started basics

To get started with setting up your ad account:

  1. Create your ad account.

    • For access to all features in Campaign Manager, be sure to associate your LinkedIn Page with your ad account. If you don’t add a Page during account creation, you can add one later.
    • Be sure to select the correct currency. It can’t be changed once your ad account has been created.
  2. Add more users to your ad account

    • Add your colleagues and partners to help manage your ads. You can add people with different user roles to control the type of access they have to the account.
    • We recommend assigning more than one account manager to your account.
  3. Set up your payment method.

    • If you’re a new advertiser to LinkedIn, you’ll typically use a credit card as your first payment method.
    • A payment method must be added before ads can run in the account.
  4. Set up the LinkedIn Insight Tag.

    • With the Insight Tag installed on your website, you can enable features like in-depth campaign reporting and website targeting.
    • Learn more about the LinkedIn Insight Tag.

Advanced ad account setup
