LinkedIn is committed to protecting member privacy. As part of this commitment, we are taking renewed steps to enforce our Ads Agreement by disabling the Insight Tag on domains that may have Sensitive Data as defined in our Advertising Policies.
Important to know
Impact to your current and future campaigns and ad sets
This change to the Insight Tag will only apply to ad sets using Conversion Tracking or website retargeting audiences using domains that are subject to being blocked. Impact to your related ad sets once the Insight Tag is disabled:
- Conversion Tracking - New conversions won’t be reported after tracking is disabled.
- Website retargeting audiences - Audience size will gradually decline.
To ensure continued performance, we recommend reviewing your campaigns and ad sets to determine if adjustments are needed. If your audience size reduces, try creating audiences using the following:
- Conversions API - Conversions API allows you to securely send data to LinkedIn directly from your servers with improved control over the data you choose to send. Learn more about Conversions API.
- Retargeting audiences - You can create retargeting audiences based on LinkedIn engagement data, such as video views and clicks on ads. Learn more about retargeting with Matched Audiences.
- Predictive audiences - Predictive audiences help expand reach by creating an audience predicted to perform actions similar to those within your source data (Lead Gen Forms, contact or company lists, conversions, and retargeting audiences). Learn more about predictive audiences.
What to do if you were notified of Insight Tag healthcare-related domains
If you were notified in Campaign Manager as having the Insight Tag disabled on a healthcare-related domain and have additional questions, or if you think one or more of your domains doesn’t include sensitive consumer information and could continue to use the Insight Tag, please take the following steps:
- For managed accounts - Contact your LinkedIn representative.
- For unmanaged accounts - Reach out to our LinkedIn support team to help with this issue. Learn the ways to contact LinkedIn support and please note you must sign in to your LinkedIn account to contact us.
Once you reach out to our team, we will review your request within ten business days. If your domain is approved to use the Insight Tag, we will re-enable the Insight Tag within four business days and notify you of the outcome.
