Lead Gen Form hidden fields

Last updated: 5 days ago

Hidden fields in Lead Gen Forms allow you to create and track additional fields in your Leads reports to help you understand key aspects such as the performance of your channels, assets, forms, and ad sets. These fields can be especially helpful if you’re using a third-party marketing automation platform to manage your leads.

Important to know

Members won’t see hidden fields within the Lead Gen Form. The fields are for reporting and testing purposes only. Hidden fields don’t capture or convey any member data.

How hidden fields work

Field names assigned for hidden fields appear in the Leads report as a column title, and the value assigned to the hidden field will appear in the associated column for every lead generated from the form.

  • Static hidden fields - These use a fixed value you choose when creating the form. For example, if you set a hidden field title as “Agency ID” and enter a field value of “12345”, the Leads report for the form will include a column titled Agency ID and for every lead captured in the report, the value of 12345 will appear in the Agency ID column.
  • Dynamic URL tracking parameters within hidden fields - Instead of one fixed value, dynamic URL tracking parameters can automatically capture different values for each lead. Dynamic URL tracking parameters are helpful for tracking things like campaign name, creative, or source without having to create multiple forms.
