My friend and Chief Curatorial officer, Dr. Bobby Duke, and I are in Israel for meetings including our friends at the Israel Antiquities Authority. We were joined by another friend, Rivka Kidron, and we had the remarkable opportunity to view some of the rare Dead Sea Scrolls (DSS) here. The DSS will be at museum of the Bible in Washington DC beginning in late November—for the first time since 1993. Once the DSS are displayed for 3 months, they must “rest” out of the light in storage for 5 years before being displayed again! We look forward to welcoming visitors from all over the world to see 3 sets over the 9 months they will be with us in DC.
