During Veterans Week, WHC recognizes Superintendent Jim Hebert, whose commitment to service continues long after his time in the U.S. Air Force. Jim is preparing to take part in the Tampa Bay Frogman Swim, a 3.4-mile open-water challenge that raises funds for the Navy SEAL Foundation and supports veterans and their families. Jim’s dedication to this cause runs deep. His father served in the Navy, his brother retired from the Army after 30 years as a helicopter pilot, and two nephews continue to serve in the Air Force. Though he is currently on the waitlist to swim, Jim is actively fundraising and ready to volunteer at the event to help others complete the journey across the bay. The Tampa Bay Frogman Swim honors the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of those who serve—and those who support them from home. To donate in support of Jim’s efforts, visit https://haku.ly/fde649a78d.

This Veterans Day, WHC recognizes the service and sacrifice of those who defend our nation. At WHC, honoring Veterans Day means acknowledging not only those across the country who have served in the Armed Forces but also the many veterans within our own team. Their experience, resilience, and leadership continue to shape how we build and work together. Each veteran’s commitment to service reflects the values that strengthen both our projects and communities. Today, WHC extends sincere thanks to all who have served and continue to serve, helping create a stronger future for everyone.

Acknowledging those who lead by example strengthens WHC’s foundation of safety and integrity. Through the Core Values Award program, we recognize individuals who live our values of Never Harm, Trust, Integrity, and Assured Delivery. Congratulations to Roberto Soria, Hydro Testing Foreman, on his Core Value Award nomination. Roberto’s leadership shines in moments that test both judgment and resolve. When severe weather posed risks, he made the call to pause operations—choosing safety over convenience. That decision reflected Never Harm and reinforced that integrity means protecting people first. Roberto consistently ensures crews follow proper procedures and work within safe limits. His actions build trust and demonstrate that true delivery is achieved through doing what’s right, not what’s easiest. He stands as a clear example of Never Harm, showing that safety and integrity are the foundation of lasting success.

WHC teed off at the Houston Pipeliners Association Fall Golf Tournament at Kingwood Country Club in Kingwood, Texas, connecting with peers across the energy industry while supporting scholarship funds for future professionals. The event provided a meaningful opportunity to strengthen relationships, build camaraderie, and give back to a cause that invests in the next generation of talent. WHC was a food sponsor for the event, partnering with Dragos to serve charbroiled oysters to attendees throughout the day, creating a relaxed and enjoyable space for conversation and networking under the beautiful Texas sunshine. It was great to see everyone at the event and take part in a tradition that continues to bring the industry together while supporting its future leaders.

Our Power sector team recently completed structural and electrical installation on a utility-scale substation in Alabama, fully constructed in-house. The facility connects a 530-acre, 80-megawatt (MW) AC solar farm, also installed by WHC, to the regional grid. This project is WHC’s first substation built completely in-house. “Launching our first self-performing substation is more than a milestone—it’s a strategic step forward,” says Randel Badeaux, Vice President of WHC’s Power Sector. “It demonstrates our ability to deliver complex scopes in-house, giving us greater control over safety, schedule, and quality, and positions us to extend this offering to future clients.” This substation reinforces WHC’s capability to deliver high-quality, schedule-driven energy infrastructure with self-performing expertise.

This year, WHC launched WHC Cares in partnership with the United Way of Acadiana, creating a framework to support communities where we live and work, as well as across the country. The initiative reflects our approach to addressing critical needs through meaningful contributions and engagement. Since its launch, WHC Cares has supported a variety of initiatives that provide tangible benefits to communities. Proceeds from the 2024 WHC Houston Christmas Party benefited health services programs, while 2025 efforts have included disaster relief support in Texas, STEM education fundraisers, and food drives in Alabama. Each initiative demonstrates the impact of combining corporate resources with the generosity and energy of our teams. “WHC Cares is more than a fund—it reflects how we operate,” says Scott Graves, Senior Vice President, Strategic Development. “It provides a foundation for long-term contributions that respond to priorities local to our evolving work locations.” Through these efforts, WHC Cares reinforces our commitment to supporting communities and building sustainable impact wherever we operate.
