Our housekeeping team has a huge impact on every guest's experience. By ensuring nothing short of perfection in every guest room, housekeepers set the tone for the entire stay--and help make sure guests want to stay with us again. That's why developing a skilled housekeeping team is essential. As Turning Stone Resort Casino's assistant executive housekeeper, Shenequa Wittman has done exactly that. As someone who began here career with us immediately after high school graduation, Shenequa is also an enthusiastic advocate for housekeeping as a great career opportunity. “Housekeeping is a great way to get your foot in the door with this organization and build the skills, like time management, that can apply to any position,” she says.

Our veterans have gone above and beyond in service of the nation, and continue to be in service to our guests and to each other. Thank you all so much for your service every single day. Earlier this month, the Oneida Indian Nation welcomed more than 450 local veterans to the 24th annual Veterans Recognition Ceremony and Breakfast at Turning Stone Resort Casino. During the event, Oneida Indian Nation Representative and Turning Stone Enterprises Chief Executive Officer Ray Halbritter reflected on the Oneida Indian Nation’s legacy of military service, highlighting Nation Members in attendance as well as the many team members who are veterans of the military. Oneida County Executive Anthony J. Picente Jr. and New York State Assemblywoman Pamela Hunter also delivered remarks thanking those in attendance for their service and sacrifice. Oneida Indian Nation Member Nichola Aregano-Diaz was honored for her service in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Communications Specialist during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Nichola currently serves as General Manager of the Oneida Indian Nation’s Mary C. Winder Community Center, carrying the core values of honor, courage and commitment to the community she proudly serves. Ryan McGinnis, a PGA Teaching Professional with the Turning Stone Resort Casino golf team, also was recognized for his work with the Nations’ PGA HOPE program that serves veterans and active-duty service members. At the event the Nation also made a donation to the Feed Our Vets, Utica Pantry, to help support their services in providing food assistance to veterans and their families.
