Force-wide digitalization shouldn’t be limited by the age of your radios. Yet, rolling out new radio systems across entire militaries can take years, leaving some units at a disadvantage in fast-moving operations. That’s why solutions like SitaWare Tactical Communications matter. By optimizing data flows and operating over extremely low bandwidth, legacy radios can still deliver critical information like friendly force tracking and reports. Combined with updates to computing equipment, this approach enables situational awareness without waiting for wholesale hardware replacement. The result? Reduced digital deficits, faster adoption of battle management systems, and greater resilience in denied, disrupted, intermittent, and limited (DDIL) environments. Data equity across the battlespace isn’t just a goal—it’s achievable. Learn more on the Systematic blog at https://lnkd.in/ePz5qARK #DDIL #TacticalCommunications #Battlefield #LowBandwidth

Great post about the importance of Coalition Interoperability and the needs of the INDOPACOM mission Network. There is a huge need for validated and certified interoperability across the force, especially in Europe where NATO has transitioned to Federated Mission Networking (FMN) Spiral 4. The US Army has not participated in a coalition interoperability exercise, such as CWIX. SitaWare Headquarters certified our SitaWare Coalition Interoperability Gateways at CWIX, as well as receiving JTIC certification for our updated standards this past summer. #Systematic #SitaWare #CJADC2 #MissionPartnerEnvironment #Interoperability
🌏 From AMN to IMN: Coalition Interoperability Lessons for the Pacific The Afghanistan Mission Network (AMN) taught us that coalition interoperability isn’t optional—it’s life or death. The 2012 Jeff Phipps and Todd "rizz" R. briefing on Coalition Interoperability Assurance & Validation (CIAV) made it clear: governance, mission threads, continuous assurance, and risk transparency are non-negotiable. Read it here. 📸 I supported the investigation of Friendly Fire incidents. The final reports were very similar: Multiple processes and procedures failed at the same time but the common thread was that there was nothing technical that prevented digital SA. 💡 Those moments drove me out of private industry and into government service with one purpose: fix digital coalition interoperability. Lives should never be lost to preventable seams in our C2 systems. 🔑 Why it matters today: As the INDOPACOM Mission Network (IMN) emerges as the backbone for combined operations in the Pacific, the lessons of AMN are instructive: 1️⃣ Governance with teeth – AMN’s coalition boards and CIAV process kept 40+ nations aligned. – IMN will require equally stronger governance to harmonize U.S., Allies, and Partners, especially with maritime and air C2 systems spanning vast distances. 2️⃣ Mission Threads, not systems – CIAV doesn't test radios or chat clients in isolation it validates Coalition Mission Threads (CMTs) like Close Air Support and ISR. – For IMN, mission threads like sea denial, distributed logistics, and fires synchronization across Allies must drive design and validation. 3️⃣ Continuous Assurance – AMN proved that one-time certification fails.(the status quo); CIAV embedded an enduring assurance cycle. – IMN must adopt the same rhythm to keep pace with rapid updates, contested cyber environments, and evolving operational concepts. 4️⃣ Transparency in risk – CIAV’s structured reporting tied operational risk to interoperability gaps. – For IMN, commanders need the same clarity: which systems degrade mission threads, where are the seams, and how do we prioritize fixes. ⚓ Bottom line: The INDOPACOM Mission Network (IMN) is the AMN of the Pacific. The stakes are higher, and if we don’t embed CIAV-style rigor from day one, we’ll build a war-fighting patchwork instead of a war-fighting network — 📄 Reference: CIAV / AMN Interoperability Assurance & Validation Briefing (NDIA/DTIC, 2012) https://lnkd.in/gtH4Vj-V #INDOPACOM #CJADC2 #AMN #IMN #CPE #MissionPartnerEnvironment #Interoperability #CoalitionWarfare #WarfightingPatchwork
