A force united by a promise to end breast cancer, funding groundbreaking research, community health & advocacy programs.

About us

In 1980, Nancy G. Brinker promised her dying sister, Susan, that she would do everything in her power to end breast cancer forever. Two years later, that promise became the Susan G. Komen® organization and the beginning of a global movement. For over 40 years, we've led the way funding groundbreaking research, community health initiatives and advocacy programs in local communities across the U.S. and in more than 30 countries. And with your help, we’ll continue pushing for progress to end breast cancer every day, until it’s a thing of the past. • We’re proud to share that two Komen abstracts were selected for presentation at the 2025 Academy of Oncology Nurse & Patient Navigators AONN+ Annual Conference earlier this month! These presentations spotlight the success of Komen’s Patient Navigation program in improving outcomes for breast cancer patients: Reducing Financial-Related Distress in Breast Cancer Patients This research highlights how our national telehealth Patient Navigation model—delivered through the Patient Care Center—is helping patients overcome financial barriers, reduce anxiety, and stay connected to care. Bringing Oncology Navigation Standards to Life Led by our Patient Navigation Training Program team, this session showcases Komen’s leadership in advancing professional standards and equipping navigators with innovative tools to thrive across diverse care settings. Together, these efforts demonstrate how we are transforming navigation practice nationwide — ensuring that every patient, everywhere, has access to high-quality, equitable support. • 1 in every 2 calls to our helpline now comes from someone seeking financial assistance, highlighting the growing burden of breast cancer care. Though there have been important advances in breast cancer screening and treatment, high-quality care remains out of reach for far too many. This #GivingTuesday, your gift is matched 4X by Ford Motor Company Warriors in Pink so that we can help those who need it today, while tirelessly searching for tomorrow’s cures. Because ending breast cancer needs all of us. https://bit.ly/3XA3fkV
