Our studio adopted the term Troika for its symbol of teamwork — something we feel to be essential in the design and construction of architecture. The building profession brings together a remarkably varied group of individuals. When this diverse group works in concert with one another the possibilities are infinite and the project benefits are exceptional. Our studio strives to involve the client, engineers and contractors as active and contributing members of the project’s development and eventual success. Since its inception, studioTROIKA’s focus has been providing our clients with the best design service possible. From the overall concept to the last detail, we approach each project, regardless of size, with a tremendous amount of energy, creativity and professionalism. studioTROIKA distinguishes itself by building thoughtful relationships with each client in order to create designs which reflect their personal and project goals. studioTROIKA is both thankful and proud of the partnerships that we have developed over the past years with residential clients and commercial business owners and look forward to new relationships in the future.

We are excited to announce that we are working with the Maine Mariners, along side Hebert Construction, LLC and Gorrill Palmer, to design and construct their new training facility! The owners of this midcentury modern home wanted to expand its current footprint by adding a garage and lower level mudroom that lead up to an open concept kitchen, dining, and living space. In order to respect the existing design and context, we matched roof lines, clerestory trapezoid windows, and vertical siding on the addition volume. We accented the addition with a large glass entry moment that is welcoming from the exterior and brightens the mudroom and stair balcony within. #residential // #singlefamily // #addition // #midcenturymodern

We have wrapped up the midterm reviews for our Fall 2025 M.Arch Health and Wellbeing Studio, “ARCH 572: Revitalizing Pier 5 in Boston Harbor.” Our students presented projects-in-progress that reimagine the currently abandoned pier as a vibrant public waterfront park centered on recreation, education, and environmental awareness. A heartfelt thank you to Bill Jacobson and Dave DiLorenzo from Courageous Sailing Center; Michael Samra, Jillian Blakey and Joshua LaBeau, RA from STUDIO TROIKA for engaging with our students throughout the semester and sharing your insights. We love designing spaces for people to gather, whether that is a kitchen in someone’s home, a public lobby, or various space types within the workplace. This project we did for Compass a few years back reminds us of the importance of creating opportunities for chance encounters to take place — in an open office with clear sightlines to a communal kitchen, and collaboration rooms around the perimeter for touchdown meetings. We are proud to have received an IIDA New England Award for Greenwich Oral Surgery, Best in Healthcare Specialty! Thank you to the IIDA of NE for hosting a great event, honoring so many talented folks and great work. Our primary design objective was to create a calming, human-centered healthcare environment that counters the clinical anxieties often associated with surgical visits. The concept centers on hospitality and transparency, using spatial cues and material warmth to reduce stress.
