Last week, I had the pleasure of speaking at RAISE Global GP Day on Fundraising Infrastructure: Build a Better LP Pipeline. We often focus on collecting more data from LPs, but what really moves the needle is collecting the right data. Understanding each LP’s diligence process helps GPs plan closes more accurately and manage the timing of a raise with confidence. And when an LP passes, the why matters just as much. Was the fund size too small this time? That’s a re-engagement opportunity for the next fund. Or do they simply not invest in venture? That’s data you can use to focus your efforts elsewhere. At Strut Consulting, we’ve seen how building dashboards and systems that track these dynamics can completely change a team’s efficiency. When you can see whether your challenge is at the top of the funnel, in the diligence stage, or in conversion, you can allocate time and resources strategically - not reactively.
