The Industrial Commission is seeking an attorney to serve as a full-time Referee in workers’ compensation proceedings. The Industrial Commission has original jurisdiction in workers' compensation litigation and appellate jurisdiction in unemployment insurance proceedings. As hearing officers, Referees handle cases related to workers’ compensation disputes, unemployment insurance, and Crime Victims Compensation Program appeals, and they draft decisions for review by the Commission. Referees may also take part in the Alternate Dispute Resolution (Mediation) process and can conduct hearings either virtually or in person.
