In the aftermath of Hurricane Melissa, Skydio joined forces with The Jamaica Flying Labs (JFL), a non-profit appointed by The Office of Disaster Preparedness & Emergency Management (ODPEM), to support national recovery efforts through advanced aerial mapping and training. Through our Skydio for All program, we deployed a team of Skydians to Jamaica for a week to help map the hardest-hit regions, train JFL on Skydio X10 systems, and donate two X10s + SW to support JFL’s ongoing disaster response and rebuilding. Operating out of Montego Bay, our team captured more than 28,000+ high-res aerial images to help assess damage across the northern and central coasts, including Falmouth and the mountainous areas near the eye of the storm. Despite austere conditions, downed power lines, and limited connectivity, the team used STARLINK terminals and LiveU to maintain communications and livestream 3D mapping missions for responders on the ground. Despite heavy rains, washed-out roads, and even a flat tire on a remote mountain pass, morale stayed high. In one of the most affected communities, our team encountered devastating destruction, yet also stories of profound resilience. They shared supplies, food, and support with locals who had seen little aid since the storm. This deployment is a testament to the power of technology, teamwork, and compassion. We’re proud to support The Jamaican Flying Labs and the people of Jamaica as they rebuild. 🇯🇲 🇺🇲 This collaboration and rapid response would not be possible without the partnership of: WeRobotics - Sonja Betschart, Valrie Grant, DBA, GISP, Dean-Ray Grant. LiveU - Jared Brody, Petre Apostol, Alex Joyce for enabling international support with our units. a16z Cultural Leadership Fund, Judene Small Jean-Louis, Ambassador Nick Perry, RSO, and Isaiah Roland for supporting our in-country operations and logistics.   Skydians - Madelyn Johnson, Taylor Mitcham, Jon-Erik Tucker, Joe Klubnick Joseph Warwick, Corey Hitchcock, Miranda Marquez, Jason LaFond, and many more behind the scenes.

One Drone Port, Multiple Environments – Driving the Future of Power Infrastructure Maintenance We are advancing infrastructure DX by implementing autonomous inspections of critical power facilities using the #Skydio Dock for X10. In collaboration with Grid Skyway LLP and Kansai Transmission and Distribution, we have carried out operations showing that a single drone port can support patrols across diverse environments—from substations to transmission lines—helping address workforce shortages and improve safety. By combining drone technology with mobile connectivity, we are paving the way for remote, automated operations that transform infrastructure maintenance. Public Safety Strategy at Skydio | Former LVMPD

Some love to talk about how far their drone can see a license plate. We all know suspects often use stolen or modified plates when committing crimes — but VINs are much harder to change. It’s not about how high you can fly; it’s about what you can actually see that matters. The clip below shows a recent flight to view a VIN plate through a windshield, clear enough that you can see the Skydio X10 reflected in the glass. Autonomy gives you the confidence to get low, move in close, and capture what really matters. Because seeing more from 400 feet doesn’t help if you’re looking at the wrong thing.

The future of policing is here -- in the metro Atlanta area, as exemplified by agencies like the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office (Deputy Jeff Hall) and the Brookhaven Police Department (Captain Abrem A.), as well as 1,000 additional agencies operating Skydio's family of flying robots in communities across the country. Manufactured right here in Hayward, California.

Another proud moment for Redmond Police, WA. The City of Redmond, WA Police Department was honored with the Aerial Achievement Award for excellence in our Drone as First Responder (DFR) program. The award was announced on September 17 during Skydio’s Ascend Conference at the Aerial Achievement Awards Dinner, and the hardware arrived today! This recognition reflects the dedication of our officers, civilian staff, and city partners who continue to drive innovation in public safety. Our DFR program is transforming how we respond to emergencies, enhancing situational awareness, reducing response times, and improving safety for both the community and our officers. Proud of the team and the work they do every day to push the boundaries of what’s possible in modern policing. #RedmondPD #DFR #PublicSafetyInnovation #AerialAchievementAward #SkydioAscend #LeadershipInAction #Skydio

Staff PM - Skydio | Berkeley MBA | UPenn CS Master’s Student | Marine Veteran

Here’s a lesson I carry from my days as a Marine flight instructor: It’s not enough to either teach/mentor or to demand performance alone. To build capable people and a strong + enduring organization, both are necessary. In fact the institution endures because it does exactly that, it teaches and demands excellence of each generation of Marines. Happy 250th Birthday to The United States Marine Corps, the finest fighting force on earth! Bonus: to get a student to achieve anything, they must accept the difficulty of the task AND understand themselves as capable of accomplishing it. *seen here - me and a few former students of mine.
