Last night at our Annual Meeting, we honored Todd Ernst, President and founder of Ernst Capital Group, with our 2025 Spirit of Sioux Falls Award. The award is presented annually to an individual who has demonstrated leadership and commitment to the economic growth and development of Sioux Falls. Todd created the financial model used to develop Foundation Park – the state’s first megasite – which encompassed over 800 acres at its inception in 2015. Today, Foundation Park is home to 13 businesses, 3,000 employees, and has generated millions of dollars for the city of Sioux Falls. Please join us in congratulating Todd!

About us
For over 60 years, it´s been our business to help better your business. Since 1954, the Sioux Falls Development Foundation (SFDF) has been leading the way in creating one of the most vibrant, secure, and growing economies in the nation. Founded by a group of far-sighted business leaders, the SFDF is a non-profit economic development corporation with the mission of improving the economy of the Sioux Falls region. We connect businesses with the tools and resources they need to be successful. What we do: • Help you build partnerships for workforce success • Assist in all phases of site selection • Develop high-quality business parks • Guide you in developing a local network of business allies We have also collaborated with a number of organizations throughout the years. The Foundation was one of the founding partners of Forward Sioux Falls, a series of marketing efforts responsible for boosting the economy since 1988. The 1990´s brought about a partnership with the Minnehaha County Rural Mayors to provide development services to the small communities. The Minnehaha County Economic Development Association was established to promote the area. With the success of MCEDA, Lincoln County communities partnered with the Foundation to establish the Lincoln County Economic Development Association. The Forward Sioux Falls Technology Program was established in 1999 by the Foundation and Chamber of Commerce and resulted in the development of the Zeal Center for Entrepreneurship; a 45,000 square foot business incubator/accelerator. We invite you to connect with us. Whether you're a one-person startup or employ thousands, we can help you find solutions to your toughest business challenges.
