The Sentry Management Inland Northwest team took part in the Habitat for Humanity of North Idaho's ReStore donation drive event! During their time at the organization, the Inland Northwest team helped organize donated items for presentation in the ReStore shop front, where proceeds benefit Kootenai County families in need. In the spirit of Thanksgiving, the Sentry Management Hilton Head team hosted a donation drive in one of their local community associations to benefit the Bluffton Self-Help organization. This organization provides access to educational, professional, and financial resources, and also serves as a food pantry for at-risk individuals and their families in the local community. The Hilton Head team and local residents collected dozens of food items for the pantry, including a turkey and two hams! Tomorrow marks National Philanthropy Day, a day honoring the profound influence of generosity, volunteerism, and charitable giving in strengthening our communities. At Sentry Management, we are proud to continue fostering a culture of compassion through our charitable program, Giving Smiles. Founded in 2006, Giving Smiles aims to support residents facing personal hardships or tragedies and to provide employees with meaningful ways to give back. It highlights Sentry’s commitment to caring for our communities and the residents within them. Since its inception, the program has assisted more than 1,800 individuals and families nationwide, including 62 families this year alone. In addition to financial support, Sentry employees have contributed more than 2,500 volunteer hours over the past year to local charities and nonprofit organizations. The Sentry Management Des Moines team hosted its second annual coat drive for Youth Emergency Shelter Services of Iowa, an organization that provides shelter for children and teens in high-risk home environments. In the end, Des Moines collected over 170 gently used coats, hats, gloves, socks, and scarves from the local community. Sentry Management's 7th Annual Charity Golf Tournament was a huge success! This week, over 150 board members, vendors, and Sentry team members gathered at Heathrow Country Club to support Runway to Hope, a Central Florida nonprofit organization that helps children and families facing pediatric cancer. This past month, the Sentry Management Des Moines team spent a day volunteering at the Meals from the Heartland Annual Hunger Fight. Meals from the Heartland is an organization dedicated to fighting hunger within our local, national, and international communities. During the event, the Des Moines team helped package hundreds of non-perishable meals for distribution, totaling 1.47 million meals by the end of the event. The Sentry Management Phoenix team participated in the Pappas Kids Schoolhouse Foundation's annual CANstruction, a canned-goods donation drive and decorating contest benefitting low-income or at-risk youth in the community. During this year's event, after collecting 1,600 canned goods from the local community, the Sentry Phoenix team's fundraising and decorating efforts earned them the Team Spirit award!
