About us
Our Chamber is the oldest and largest voluntary organization in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties. As an independent nonprofit corporation (not affiliated with government or any other agency), we uniquely serve the needs of our 1,400+ members and the more than 34,000 individuals they collectively employ. Our philosophy is simple. We believe more business is good for existing business, an attractive and viable city attracts more business activity, and this additional activity benefits every business person and resident. We succeed thanks to highly engaged volunteers supported by a team of professional staff. This potent combination does what no service club, government agency or individual business could accomplish alone: enhance and promote San Luis Obispo as a place to do business and enjoy life. In addition, we stay true to a few core values which assist us in successfully achieving our mission, to connect the business community with ideas, inspiration and each other, by bringing people together to shape the place we love. San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce core values: • Ask What's Possible • Rise Above Self Interest • Target Amazing • Build Relationships • Connect Diverse Perspectives • Grit to Achieve What We Believe In • Oh, and We Like to Have Fun We invite you to get engaged; be an active participant in and caretaker of the place you have chosen to build your life.
