This Veteran’s Day, we honor our servicemen and servicewomen for their bravery and sacrifice. Thank you for all you do.
In celebration of the contributions of veterans everywhere, we’re proud to spotlight four of our own — Tommy Tsang, Joshua McKay, Ryn Zhao, and Joe D.
Tommy served five years in the U.S. Navy as a Culinary Specialist, stationed Yokosuka, Japan and Jacksonville, Florida, where he strengthened his soft skills, reshaped his work ethic, and gained the opportunity to travel the world — including three years living in Japan. Tommy now works in Information Technology (IT), applying the discipline and adaptability he developed in the Navy to his role each day.
“Serving in the U.S. Navy as a Culinary Specialist, is where I strengthened my soft skills, reshaped my work ethic, and gained the opportunity to travel the world and live in Japan for three years.”
Joshua served in the U.S. Marine Corps from January 2002 to 2008, with deployments spanning from Iraq to Aruba. His time in the Marines instilled the strength to push through any challenge while maintaining integrity in all he does. Joshua now serves as an Assistant Property Manager with Rose Associates, continuing to lead with resilience and purpose.
“The Marines gave me the strength to push through any challenge while keeping my integrity intact.”
Joe served in the U.S. Army (mostly Reserves) for over 25 years and joined Rose in 2015 as a Tax Supervisor in our Investor Services department.
“The biggest thing you learn when you join the military is how to work with people from diverse backgrounds. You learn to roll up your sleeves, work together, and complete your mission. It’s a life lesson that has served me well throughout my career and contributed to my success both here at Rose and in my previous roles.”
Ryn served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 2007 to 2015 as a Logistics Specialist, stationed in Long Island, NY, and did a tour in Afghanistan from 2010 to 2011. “From my time in the Army Reserve, I gained discipline, resilience, and the ability to perform under pressure — skills that have shaped how I work and succeed today.”
We are honored to recognize their service and dedication, and we thank all veterans for their courage, discipline, and commitment — values that continue to inspire us every day.
