Honored to participate in the Population, Health, and Development Conference (PHDC '25) in Egypt, a crucial platform for announcing the Egyptian National Health Strategy and shaping the future of health in Egypt! Roche contributed to three vital panel discussions hosted by the Ministry of Health & Population - Egypt: 1. 🌐 The Power of Health Data Governance The discussion emphasized the need for robust governance to modernize the sector and ensure the privacy, security, and ethical use of health information for data-driven health equity. 2. 🗣️ Elevating the Patient Voice in Public Health This panel reinforced the commitment of the Egyptian healthcare ecosystem to integrating patient perspectives. Incorporating patient voices leads to smarter policies, better services, and greater trust, setting a regional example supported by the WHO. 3. 📈 The Societal Impact of Health Innovations Focusing on value beyond clinical outcomes, the panel discussed how health innovations (medicines, diagnostics, and digital solutions) enhance workforce productivity and strengthen national resilience. The discussion between Egyptian healthcare leaders and Prof. Dennis Ostwald CEO of WifOR Institute highlighted the the importance of transforming the cost-effectiveness metrics to also capture this broader societal value. The closing remarks by H.E. Prof. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister & Minister of Health and Population, focused on the important economic and societal impact of healthcare investment.
