Who's struggling most with their job prospects right now? Workers of all ages are losing confidence in their ability to find new jobs or hold onto their current ones, according to LinkedIn's latest Workforce Confidence. U.S. professionals' confidence in their job security hit +34 on a scale of -100 to +100 last quarter. That's down 10 points from the same time last year — and lower than it was in 2020 when the pandemic drove widespread layoffs. These days, it's Gen Z feeling the most pessimistic. Job confidence for the youngest members of the workforce is now at +15, down 14 points year-over-year. While Gen Z workers have consistently scored lower than their older colleagues, the gap has been widening in recent years. Millennials follow as second-most pessimistic at +32, then Gen Xers at +36 and baby boomers at +41. Every generation has seen a drop in confidence levels drop since last year as hiring stalls and technological advancements reshape the workforce. Do these findings line up with what you would expect? What advice would you give to other professionals — especially younger ones — looking to strengthen their career outlook? ✍️: Taylor Borden 📊: Allie Lewis
