Last week, our sales team traveled to Italy, where they had the privilege of visiting three of our long-standing manufacturing partners. This journey offered more than just an opportunity to observe their work firsthand. It was a powerful reminder of the artistry, discipline, and innovation that define our collaborations. From the moment our team arrived, they were welcomed with generosity and warmth. This hospitality reflected the deep-rooted trust and mutual respect that have long shaped our partnerships. Witnessing their meticulous attention to detail, creative problem-solving, and unwavering commitment to quality left the team with a renewed sense of admiration for the people behind the designs. These are not just manufacturers, they are artisans and visionaries who share our belief that thoughtful design can transform the way we live. What connects us is more than a shared portfolio. It is a common dedication to craftsmanship, transparency, and purpose-driven design. Over the years, this professional alignment has evolved into something more enduring—a relationship founded on collaboration, respect, and friendship. We are honored to be considered an extension of your teams and grateful for the opportunity to grow alongside you. Thank you for your continued partnership. We look forward to the meaningful work still ahead and to our next visit.

We are proud to see how design has become a powerful tool not just for aesthetics but for solving complex challenges in urban living. The growth of our Contract Division stands as proof: thoughtful, well-crafted, and multifunctional furniture can respond to the evolving demands of how we live. Looking forward, our focus is on longevity, designing not only for today’s needs but for the shifting landscapes of tomorrow. Here’s to the next 25 years of space-saving solutions.
When Resource Furniture launched 25 years ago, our mission was to help people make the most of their homes. But as New York’s housing crisis worsened and apartments grew smaller, developers began to ask: could our transforming furniture be adapted for large-scale projects? That’s how our Contract Division was born—not from a business plan, but from a real need in the city. A turning point came with the Making Room exhibition at the Museum of the City of New York, where we built a 325-square-foot apartment that transformed throughout the day. It showed what’s possible when design meets livability. Since then, our Contract Division has partnered with architects and developers in multifamily housing, hospitality, and student living all over the country—proving that smaller spaces can still offer comfort, style, and lasting quality. Today, over 80% of our Contract work comes from repeat clients—developers who’ve seen firsthand how transforming furniture changes both the economics and livability of their projects. The next 25 years will bring new housing challenges, and we’ll keep providing sustainable, space-saving solutions that make life better, no matter the size of the space. https://lnkd.in/eGbtY6dE

Last week at Seattle Design Center's Fall Design Day, our Vice President of Marketing & Brand Strategy, Challie Stillman, hosted a main stage conversation on The Art of Functionality alongside renowned Seattle-based interior designers Michelle Dirkse and Lowe Delgado. We are grateful for this meaningful collaboration, which offered rich insight into the evolving role of multifunctional design. Through the lens of these visionary designers, the discussion explored how thoughtful interiors can unite artistic expression with practical solutions, elevating the way we live regardless of space constraints. As the conversation continues to evolve, we remain focused on creating furniture that meets the demands of modern living, without compromising on design, craftsmanship, or sustainability. Resource Furniture reposted this
Celebrating 25 years of Resource Furniture has me reflecting on what has mattered most: service. When we started, our mission was simple: to solve spatial challenges through good design. That belief shaped not just the products we carry, but the way we work with every client. Over the years, I’ve seen our team create custom space plans for cramped Manhattan apartments, manage complex installations in historic buildings, and deliver white-glove service that ensures every detail is handled with care. Those experiences—and the trust they’ve built—are why so many clients come back or send friends and family our way. For me, that loyalty is the greatest marker of longevity. It’s proof that when you truly care for people and their spaces, they remember. Today, Resource Furniture is the largest distributor of space-saving furniture in North America, but our success has always come down to relationships and the service we provide. As I look ahead to the next 25 years, I’ll be sharing more reflections on design, partnerships, and lessons learned. But it felt right to begin here, with gratitude for every client who has invited us into their home or office. What spatial challenges have shaped your living or working space? I’d love to hear your stories.

In its latest feature on small space design, Architectural Digest affirms what we have long known—multifunctional furniture is no longer a luxury, but a necessity. As Challie Stillman, our VP of Creative, reflects, today’s homes must seamlessly support work, rest, wellness, and storage—all within the same square footage. At Resource Furniture, we are meeting this demand through designs that make every square foot work smarter, harder, and more beautifully.
