Farm founder Michelle Week, of Sinixt ancestry, shares her perspective: “I feel like a steward, not an owner, of the farm. The plants are the bosses; I’m just the caretaker. The focus of the farm is to contribute to our region’s food sources and uphold Native food sovereignty.” November is Native American Heritage Month, a time especially to highlight Indigenous peoples and their deep connections between land, culture and food. At x̌ast sq̓it, or Good Rain Farm, that connection is alive in every seed planted and every meal shared. OGC gave a Mission Fund grant to Good Rain Farm in 2025. They plan to use it to support payroll and work on projects on the new farmland. Bringing organic produce to the people since 1978
About us
We have been committed to providing our customers with fresh and flavorful organic produce since 1978. Our passion for organic produce has helped us become the largest wholesaler of organic fruits, vegetables and herbs in the Pacific Northwest. Not only are we committed to organic produce, we are also committed to becoming ever more sustainable in our business practices, and we encourage similar methods throughout the trade. Organically Grown was founded by farmers. We have built on those relationships by expanding our grower network to ensure we have access to the best produce available. Because we work within a small trade system, we are able to purchase over 90% of our products directly from growers. We team up with natural and fine food retailers, supermarket chains, restaurants, home delivery enterprises and processors who provide the final link in bringing our produce to customers thereby ensuring that Northwest communities reap the benefits of fresh organic fruits and vegetables. Organic food is produced naturally, without using conventional pesticides, petroleum-based fertilizers, or chemical processes. It's healthy for consumers and healthier for the growers in the fields. In a nutshell, organic food promotes healthy communities and a healthy environment.

“Nature is the real thing. It never sells out, it’s always true, and young people are looking for that authenticity. People want the next new thing, but soil and nature, they’re just forever authentic, you know?” - James Cassidy, Senior Instructor at OSU. On a patch of Oregon State University land in Corvallis, the OSU Organic Growers Club is cultivating much more than fruits, vegetables and herbs. It’s a hands-on learning ground where students get to experience what it really takes to grow organically, from planting and harvesting to running a CSA. This year, the OSU Organic Growers Club received an OGC Mission Fund grant, which helped pay student stipends and purchase farm materials. The support is helping the farm continue to thrive while giving students a one-of-a-kind education in sustainable agriculture. Big news! We’ve signed on to the U.S. Food Waste Pact, making OGC the first wholesale distributor at the table! The U.S. Food Waste Pact, a national effort led by ReFED and World Wildlife Fund to cut food waste across the supply chain. According to ReFED, wasted food generates 10% of the United States’ methane emissions, a harmful greenhouse gas that’s contributing to climate change and about 50x as potent as carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. OGC is deeply committed to preventing food from going to waste in the first place and achieved a 93% zero-waste threshold in 2024 through actions like donating all of our unsellable fresh produce to hunger relief nonprofits or animal feed. Now, by joining the Pact, we’ll collaborate with other food businesses to share best practices and innovate together to build a more sustainable food system.
