This week, the New York State Education Department hosted a special event at the State Education Building in Albany to celebrate and recognize Veterans. The program brought together colleagues, partners, and students to reflect on leadership, resilience, citizenship, and the spirit of service. A special highlight was the Albany High School JROTC Color Guard, whose discipline and teamwork set a powerful tone for the event. Commissioner Betty A. Rosa delivered special remarks, and we were pleased to hear from our colleagues and special guests who shared their perspectives: 🔹Mark Sollohub, Special Assistant for Outreach, NYS Department of Veterans’ Services 🔹John Paneto, Diversity and Inclusion Specialist 2, NYS Department of Civil Service 🔹Tracy Snow, Licensing Services Clerk, NYS Education Department Thank you to all who joined us in celebrating the commitment and courage of our Veterans.
