Were influencers banned from The Met Gala? 🫧 📱 Compared to last year, where several influencers and content creators blessed the infamous Met Gala stairs – think: TikTok star Wisdom Kaye, who wore Robert Wun in 2024 – this year, it seemed like representation from the creator community was bleak, outside of Vogue correspondent Emma Chamberlain. 📸 Especially given this year’s theme, the question of “Where were the influencers?” was more prevalent than ever – especially for POC and Black creators who’ve shown out with content & proved they’re worthy of an invite to this fashion-forward, charitable mega-stage. 💌 Certainly, influencers still made their presence known, even if it wasn’t in-person. From traditional style breakdowns – think: micro-influencers like Ava Cameron or larger creators like Coach Jackie J on TikTok – to think-pieces on headlines and trends from the event – “If it’s a spotlight for fashion icons, where are the fashion influencers?” – and even criticisms, content creators painted the event for their audiences online in an unignorable and unforgettable way. 📓 While rumors are still spiraling about potential “influencer bans,” A-lister celebrity criticisms about last year’s creator invitee list, and drama surrounding influencer live streams from Met after-parties last year, there’s nothing concrete to prove that anything has changed from last year – outside of a bleak, content creator-less carpet. 💬 What are your thoughts on this year’s Met Gala?
