One person who truly embodies this mission is Samantha Waaland, Home Health Physical Therapist at National Church Residences and the 2025 recipient of the Ohio Health Care Association's Best of Ohio Home Care Excellence Award. Sam’s commitment goes far beyond physical therapy; she leads through service, empathy, and genuine human connection. Her work is a reminder of why National Care at Home Month matters: exceptional home-based care changes lives in big and small ways, every single day. Across Ohio, our teams from Central, Southern, and the Miami Valley came together to join the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, standing united with thousands of others in the fight for a future without Alzheimer’s and all other dementias. At National Church Residences, honoring our Veterans means more than words. It means action. Yesterday at Lincoln Village, the Franklin County Sheriff's Office honored our Veterans with certificates of appreciation and Sheriff Gilbert’s chief's awards coin and a commemorative coin, symbolizing respect, honor, courage, and service. Robert Traphagan, owner of the CENTRAL OHIO MILITARY MUSEUM, also shared inspiring words. We extend our deepest gratitude not only to these Veteran residents, but to all who have served. Gratitude is powerful. Action is greater. Thank a Veteran today — and if you can, do more.

This year marks the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army, Navy, and Marine Corps, a powerful reminder of those who have given, in Lincoln’s words, “the last full measure of devotion” to defend our democracy.
