Last week, we hosted our wonderful friends from Munich Airport International and Munich Airport in another round of our Educational Exchange program! Our visitors toured Newark Terminal A, visited our Terminal Operations Control Center, and had deep dive sessions with respective departments to share insights and best practices with corresponding employees. We are so grateful to be a part of this amazing program and are always so thrilled to host our visitors at Newark Terminal A! Thank you to our team for organizing another successful exchange. During these times of uncertainty, MANJ is proud to support the dedicated TSA staff who continue showing up every day to keep travelers safe. We asked our airport staff to donate toiletries last week, and yesterday, our team handed out supply bags filled with household essentials, from soap, mouthwash, and deodorant to cleaning wipes, tissues, detergent, and bleach, to TSA employees at the end of their shifts. Thank you to Stephanie Vigilotti-Derr for organizing this gesture of gratitude for their continued service and resilience. 💙✈️

Happy Halloween from MANJ! Our amazing staff showed off their creative sides with festive costumes, while our Office Manager Shamika Claxton added a sweet surprise from Tonnie's Minis. Spooky banana pudding cups and candy for the team! 🍌🍬 Meanwhile, at Newark Terminal A, passengers got an extra treat as Tahra Friedman spread Halloween cheer with skeletons and free candy giveaways. ✈️🍭 A little spirit (and sugar!) goes a long way. 💜🖤🧡

💗 Yesterday, we wore pink with purpose! 💗 In support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the team at MANJ proudly took part in the Wear It Pink initiative to our solidarity with those affected by breast cancer and raising awareness for early detection and support. Last week, MANJ participated in The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey's annual Airport Day, a family and friends event that allows our loved ones to experience the airport community. At the MANJ booth, we had games, snacks, and prize wheels for our attendees to enjoy throughout the day! We are extremely thankful to Master ConcessionAir, LLC for providing beverages, including hot tea and coffee, for our guests. We are so happy to be apart of this community and can't wait for next year's event!

Munich Airport NJ LLC was happy to host and moderate an emergency response tabletop exercise with our partners from The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, United Airlines, and various other stakeholders and service providers in attendance. Our attendees worked through a simulated terminal evacuation scenario and gamed out responses together to recover from the emergency and return our 5-star terminal back to normal operations. Practicing our emergency response efforts as an airport community helps to build trust in everyone's processes and improves communication and collaboration as a team. We want to thank our moderators Evan Scala, USAP and Nicholas Humphreys for planning this event, alongside a logistical support team Jessica Rodriguez, Kristen N., Danny Barcia, and Anthony Sanclemente!

We’re thrilled to share that Bertha Malasquez has been honored with the Heart of Service Award at Q2 The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey WeSOAR Awards, a truly well-deserved recognition for someone who consistently goes above and beyond. Bertha’s award-winning nomination tells the story of how she stepped in to help a foreign traveler stranded at the airport late at night with genuine compassion and humanity. In the traveler’s own words, Bertha was “like an angel”, offering comfort after this passenger missed their flight by guiding them to a restaurant for their first meal for the day, carrying their luggage, and helping them rebook their flight. This recognition is extra special because it marks the second quarter in a row that a member of the MANJ Terminal Operations team has received a We SOAR Award. It’s a testament to the remarkable culture of service, empathy, and excellence that defines this team!

On Wednesday, MANJ took to the Terminal A ramp for our first FOD Walk! In an effort to create a safer and more sustainable airfield, team members volunteered their time to collect and properly dispose of any Foreign Object Debris. We thank Jordan Gershoff and Anita O'Connor for organizing this event, all of our team members who participated, and Taylor Harrison for taking photographs throughout the day! ♻️🗑️✈️

Thank you for your kind words. Dr. Jan-Henrik Andersson! It was a pleasure to have you visit our terminal, and we look forward to seeing you again.
A ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ terminal and a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ airport – united by one ambition: delivering excellence in passenger experience and operations. During my visit to our colleagues Munich Airport NJ LLC in Newark, I was impressed by their strong focus on both well-being and operational excellence: Sensory Rooms – designed to create calm, reduce travel stress, and even help passengers cope with fear of flying through simulation. A true wow moment in customer experience. ITOCC – the Integrated Terminal Operations Control Center – bringing together operations, airlines, safety, security, IT, and other service providers under one roof. It may look like a startup garage, but it delivers world-class efficiency. Virtual Apron Control Room – a smart concept with rotating shifts, enabling highly effective apron management. Collaboration and innovation like this are what make airports strong, resilient, and ready for the future. 🙌 #CustomerExperience #Innovation #Collaboration #OperationalExcellence

Last week, we said goodbye to MANJ's first CEO Michael Kunz. Michael came to MANJ in 2023 to lead our team for 2 years, through important accreditations such as our 5 Star Skytrax Rating and our World's Best New Terminal Award. While we’re sad to see him go, we’re deeply grateful for his contributions and wish him the best in his retirement. We wish him every success in his next chapter. Thank you, Michael!
